January 7, 2020–10:23 a.m.

ROME POLICE REPORTS

Rome Police were dispatched to three reported armed robberies within hours of each other over the weekend.

The first call came in at around 11:49 p.m. Saturday.

According to the incident report, two black males, armed with guns made off with $1,900 and eight cartons of Newport cigarettes from the Stop and Go store at 400 Calhoun Avenue.

Then at around 2:58 a.m. Sunday, a black male wearing a mask entered the Circle K at Five Points with a silver pistol and took $200 from the cash registers.

That same morning at around 4:20 a.m., a man entered the Circle K on garden Lakes Boulevard, pointed a silver-barreled handgun, possibly a High Point, at the clerk and stated: “Don’t move!”

The suspect then told the clerk, “I’m not going to hurt you,” before taking $70.89.

The suspect tried to make the clerk open the safe and she said she could not.

He then searched the back office and found a $20 bill before telling the clerk to stay underneath the office desk.

That suspect is described as a black male with big eyebrows and “brown buckeyes.”
