Man accused of fleeing from police, abandoning child

A 23-year old Rome man is accused of fleeing from police and abandoning a two-year-old child in the vehicle.

According to the arrest warrants, Jamal Alexander Pryor failed to stop for police in the area of Maple Road on April 30.

He then left the vehicle running and in gear when he got out and fled on foot, leaving the child behind.

Pryor was also in possession of over 30 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, and a firearm.

He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, 2nd-degree cruelty to children, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, reckless conduct, reckless driving, felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
