Tropical Storm Claudette expected to impact North Georgia

Chattooga, Bartow, Floyd, Gordon, Polk, and Paulding:

Periods of heavy rainfall are expected today and tonight as showers and thunderstorms from Tropical Storm Claudette spread across north and central Georgia.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect starting at 2 PM this afternoon for portions of north and central Georgia.

This rainy weather is expected to last until Tuesday – listed below are the expected forecasts throughout the upcoming week:

Saturday Night:
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a low around 68. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.

Sunday:
Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. North wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Sunday Night:
A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Monday:
A chance of showers and thunderstorms then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Monday Night:
