Woman charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle
A Rome woman is accused of stealing a car from a yard on Brumbelow Road in Aragon.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Kiline Lynn Boatner took the 2002 Nissan Altima valued at $5,000 on Wednesday.
She is charged with a felony count of theft by taking a motor vehicle.
Two arrested on drugs, and weapons charges following a traffic stop
A traffic stop at Redmond Circle and Redmond Road Wednesday ended with the arrest of two Rome residents on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 40-year-old Matthew James Johnson was stopped for no working tail lights.
28 grams of methamphetamine was found along with digital scales, and packaging materials.
Four grams of heroin was also recovered, along with less than an ounce of marijuana, and two handguns.
Johnson and 25-year-old Heaven Lee Dawn Hood were charged with trafficking both meth and heroin; possession of meth, heroin, and marijuana with the intent to distribute; possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; and possession of drug-related objects.
Hood was also charged with possession of psilocybin mushrooms and Klonopin.
