-ACCG News Release-
Floyd County Commission Chair Allison Watters was recently elected to serve on the 2024- 2025 Association County Commissioners of Georgia Board of Managers.
Watters will represent the ACCG as an At-Large Representative covering the whole state.
“We are excited to welcome our newly installed Board of Managers, a group of dedicated leaders chosen by their peers to guide our organization,” said Executive Director Dave Wills. “Their commitment and expertise will be invaluable as we work together to advance the interests of Georgia’s counties.”
Watters was first elected to the Floyd County Board of Commissioners in 2017 and recently became the county chairman. Her commitment extends beyond the commission, as she actively engages with her community, advocating for meaningful causes. She currently serves as co-chair of Rome for the Rescues, channeling her passion into fundraising efforts for animal welfare projects. In the past, she chaired the Heart of the Community Board of Directors, which earned her recognition as one of the Heart of the Community Award recipients in 2016. Additionally, her dedication to public service is reflected in her involvement on the ACCG Interlocal Risk Management Agency (ACCG – IRMA) board. Now as an ACCG At-Large Representative, she will work alongside other Board members to lead the Association and guide policies during the next year.
“I consider it an honor to be selected to serve on the ACCG Board of Managers,” said Chair Watters. “ACCG has a long history of providing exceptional training and legislative leadership to Georgia county governments. I look forward to serving with county leaders across the state to continue the good work of supporting county governments as they provide the necessary leadership, services, and programs to meet the needs of their citizens.”
