The Rome City Commission will conduct the first of three public hearings regarding the millage rate when they meet Monday.
A tax rate of 26.45 mills, the same as in 2023, has been advertised.
However, the city’s finance committee is recommending a reduction of 0.25 mills for city maintenance and operations.
The current rate is 7.75 mills for M&O; 1.75 mills for capital improvements; and 16.75 mills for Rome City Schools.
Monday’s city commission meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. at Rome City Hall.

During the pre-meeting caucus, which starts at 5 p.m., the commission will hear a presentation from the United Way of Rome and Floyd County.
