A North Rome teen who lost both his legs after being run over by a train early Thursday morning in North Rome remained in critical condition Friday.
Police were initially called about a teenager passed out on the train tracks near Callahan Street early Thursday morning.
Floyd County and Rome police were the first on the scene and administered first aid until emergency services arrived. Both the teen’s legs were severed by the train. The teen was transported to Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in critical condition.
Floyd County and Rome and briefed the Norfolk Southern Railroad investigator and turned the scene over to the company to complete an investigation regarding the incident.
