Two more accused of renting equipment from Home Depot and then selling it

Two more arrests have been made in the theft of equipment from Home Depot on Hicks Drive in Rome.

According to the arrest warrants:

42-year-old Jacquis Montez Terry of Atlanta and 33-year-old Sean Willis Jones Jr. of Snellville rented a Ford T250 flatbed truck and a JLG 50-foot boom lift and then sold them to another person for $10,000 back on July 9.

Both men are charged with theft by taking, theft by conversion, and theft by deception.

Earlier in the week, 33-year-old Kerry Aston Howard of Lithonia was arrested in the same incident.

24-year-old Joshua Lanier Glenn of College Park was also arrested this week for allegedly renting a 35-foot boom lift from Home Depot and selling it to a man in Florida in August.

House-sitter arrested for theft

A 31-year-old Cedartown woman is accused of stealing more than $68,000 in jewelry and other items while house-sitting at a residence on Ridge Road in Cave Spring.

According to an arrest warrant:

Susan Marilyn Johnson pawned one of the stolen items, a necklace, for $1,050 on August 10.

Johnson is charged with six counts of felony theft by taking, and 21 counts of misdemeanor theft by taking.

Moped rider arrested on drug charges

A man on a moped reportedly refused to stop for police after he was seen driving on the wrong side of the road Wednesday night.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

The moped was later found and 50-year-old Johnny Junior Richardson of Rome had fled on foot into a residence on North Fifth Avenue.

Once apprehended, a search turned up suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.

Richardson is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, misdemeanor obstruction of officers, failure to yield for an emergency vehicle, and driving on the wrong side of the roadway.

Another man in the home, 46-year-old Omoro Herring, was also charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.

Man charged with possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute

A 44-year-old Rome man was arrested Wednesday after he was reportedly observed by Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers selling cocaine on Turner McCall Boulevard.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Drimus Demon Wofford was seen placing the cocaine in a location where it was discovered by officers.

Wofford is charged with possession of crack cocaine, and possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute.
