Woman accused of leaving disabled victims in the cold

A West Rome woman has been arrested on three counts of the abuse of a disabled adult.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

45-year-old Talya Nachisa Pollard left the victims sitting outside in a vehicle, which was not running, in cold weather back on January 9.

The victims were scared, and confused, and had to be assisted inside their group home.

Pollard was arrested on the felony charges Wednesday at her residence on South Division Street.

Woman charged with child cruelty

A West Rome woman is accused of leaving three children unattended at her Ohio Drive residence on Sunday of this week.

According to an arrest warrant:

26-year-old Brenda Jocelyn Santos-Martinez deprived the children of necessary sustenance to the extent that their health or well-being was jeopardized.

All of the children were under the age of 6.

Santos-Martinez is charged with 1st-degree cruelty to children.

Two jailed on drugs, weapons charges

The execution of a search warrant at a residence on Harper Avenue ended with the arrest of two Rome residents on drugs and weapons charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

26-year-old Brian Antonio Tinch and 64-year-old Jacqueline Denise Wofford were found in possession of a firearm, Xanax pills, over an ounce of marijuana, and drug-related objects.

Both are charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.

Tinch was also charged with obstruction after he ran from law enforcement when they arrived on the scene.

Man accused of damaging RTD restroom

An Armuchee man is facing a 2nd-degree criminal damage to property charge following his arrest on East First Street in Rome on Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

39-year-old Billy Ray Justice broke the tile on the wall of the restroom at the Rome Transit Department parking lot.

The estimated damage exceeded $500.
