Teen accused of entering autos

A Rome teen is facing multiple charges including entering an automobile, theft by taking, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

17-year old Brisyn Adonis-Jamal Alexander entered vehicles on McCrary Drive on October 27 and stole a firearm and a speaker.

The same day he entered a vehicle on Mount Alto Road and took $80 in cash.

Man charged with drug heroin possession, tampering with evidence

A Rome man is facing felony charges of tampering with evidence, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of heroin with the intent to distribute, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

42-year-old Matthew James Johnson was found to be driving with a suspended license and then ran from police before being taken into custody.

Once at the jail, bags containing suspected cocaine and heroin were found in the patrol vehicle.

Johnson is also charged with misdemeanor counts of obstruction and driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Man charged with false statements and writings

A 46-year-old College Park man is accused of giving someone else’s name to Rome Police during a traffic stop in September of 2019.

According to an arrest warrant:

David Euford James gave the officer his brother’s name and then signed that name to a citation.

James is charged with false statements and writings, and giving a false name or date of birth.
