Two arrested for cocaine possession
Two Rome residents were arrested Thursday at the intersection of Branham Avenue and Grover Street on cocaine possession charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Chastan Jakese Mims and 55-year-old John Le Roy Evans were found with suspected cocaine during a traffic stop.
Mims also gave police her sister’s name and signed that name after being fingerprinted at the jail.
Mims is additionally charged with first-degree forgery, false statements or writings, giving a false name or date of birth, and open container.
She is also facing three misdemeanor counts of failure to appear and a misdemeanor probation violation.
Report: Woman found with fentanyl during traffic stop
A Rome woman is facing a felony drug charge following her arrest on South Broad Street Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Police stopped 47-year old Jennifer Erin Ware for a windshield violation.
During a search following a K9 indication, fentanyl was found in Ware’s purse.
