Woman accused of stealing $3.500 bicycle
An East Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with theft by taking.
According to the warrant:
20-year-old Nazeer Dishye Lawrence took a bicycle valued at $3,500 from a location on Turner McCall Boulevard on June 16.
Inmates facing charges following fight at jail
Two inmates are facing charges following a fight at the Floyd County Jail on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old Donald Hugh Hembree III and 34-year-old Daryl Wayne Stamey Jr., both of Rome, were involved in the physical altercation.
Both are charged with battery and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.
Hembree has been in jail since May 3 following his arrest on charges of false imprisonment and reckless conduct.
Stamey has been jailed since June 12 for a probation violation.
Man charged with meth possession following traffic stop
A 46-year-old West Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Michael Brandon Thompson was stopped by police on Chatillon Road and Riverside Parkway after his vehicle crossed the center line several times.
He was then found with suspected methamphetamine and objects used to ingest the drug.
Thompson is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, failure to maintain a lane, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Two Trion residents arrested in Armuchee
Two Trion residents were arrested on Highway 27 at Highway 156 on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Wesley Taylor Butler and 19-year-old Layla Alexis Lee were in possession of five vaping devices, two of which were high-concentration THC.
The other three were nicotine.
Butler and Lee are charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of a nicotine vape by a person under the age of 21.
