This Thursday, Rome and Floyd County will honor the dedication and service of the local law enforcement and public safety community during National Faith & Blue Day.
The event will be held from 6 a.m. until 9 a.m. in the parking lot at AdventHealth Redmond on the Emergency Room side.
“It’s a time that we get together and pray for our law enforcement and our public safety,” said Floyd County Commissioner and Chaplain David Thornton. “It’s just the faith-based community, law enforcement, and public safety coming together. We used to have it for years at the law enforcement training center, but this year, we have partnered with Scotty Hancock and AdventHealth Redmond. Next year, we are going to try to do Atrium Health Floyd.”
A number of agencies will be represented, including the Floyd County and Rome City Police Departments, the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office, the Rome-Floyd County Fire Department, 911 dispatch, Floyd and Redmond EMS, Georgia State Patrol, and Floyd County Prison.
The event will also feature Java Joy and pastries, as well as food from Chick-fil-A and Bojangles.
