-Floyd County Jail records-

A Rockmart man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Wednesday on charges dating back to August 1, 2020.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

53-year-old Billy Lee Bryd Jr. failed to signal while turning into the parking lot of the Creekside Inn.

He then attempted to conceal himself inside the bathroom of a room at the inn.

Byrd, who is a convicted felon and had an active parole warrant for his arrest, was in possession of a Colt Delta Elite 10mm pistol.

A glass smoking device with methamphetamine residue was recovered from the vehicle after a positive alert from a K9.

Byrd is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of meth, and possession of drug-related objects.
