A Rome woman is accused of forging medical excuses to avoid truancy issues at Armuchee Primary School.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
46-year-old Angela Kasey Settlemoir forged the signature of a medical professional, devised patient dates, and used medical record images without the permission of the provider between October 2 of last year and January 18 of this year.
She is charged with four counts of falsifying medical records, and four counts of 1st-degree forgery.
Settlemoir was arrested and was also charged with giving a false name or date of birth for allegedly providing her sister’s name to police.

Meanwhile, a Texas Valley woman has been arrested on multiple counts of 1st-degree forgery for similar actions.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
39-year-old Christina Grace Vansise attempted to avoid truancy issues at Armuchee Elementary School and Armuchee High School by creating 11 fake medical documents in the form of medical excuses between October 4 and December 12 of last year.
These are the second and third arrests in recent weeks involving fake excuses.
On January 25, 31-year-old Jennifer Leigh Vasser was arrested for allegedly forging the signature on a doctor’s note to excuse a child’s absence at Armuchee Primary School.
