Report: Woman pointed a gun at police officer
A 61-year-old Rome woman is accused of pointing a gun at a Rome Police officer back on November 17 at a location on Eugenia Circle.
According to the arrest warrants:
Angela Laura Earwood also fought with and resisted the police.
She also kicked EMS personnel twice.
Earwood is charged with felony obstruction of officers, aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a police officer, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and interference with medical personnel.
Man charged with aggravated battery on a police officer
A Rome man is facing multiple charges following his arrest over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
22-year-old Rodreaus Jhiheame Shaymar Roberts was at a closed church on East 14th Street.
He then fled on foot from police.
Roberts was then found at a location on Maple Avenue where he initially refused to identify himself and then gave officers a false name.
He then failed to obey commands to put his hands behind his back.
Again, Roberts attempted to run before fighting with police, striking an officer in the chest with his knees and one of the officers sustained a torn ligament in his finger.
Roberts is charged with felony and misdemeanor counts of obstruction of officers, aggravated battery against a law enforcement officer, simple battery against a law enforcement officer, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime, loitering or prowling, possession of marijuana, and giving a false name or date of birth.
Man accused of making threat while holding shotgun
A 70-year-old Rome man was arrested early Monday at his Williamson Street home on charges of aggravated assault, and terroristic threats and acts.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Bobby Allen Pate told a 27-year-old man that he was going to “blow his head off.”
The threat was made as Pate was loading a shotgun.
Woman charged with possession of meth with the intent to distribute
A Rome woman was arrested on drug charges at a location on Callier Springs Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Courtney Jelisa Johnson had suspected marijuana and methamphetamine in her front pockets.
Police also found two glass smoking devices, plastic baggies, and a digital scale.
Johnson is charged with possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.
Man arrested following traffic stop
A traffic stop on Alabama Highway at Beech Creek Saturday ended with the arrest of a 32-year-old Rome man for possession of cocaine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Tile Ceatrice McGill was found with a white, powdery substance believed to be cocaine, along with two open containers of alcohol.
In addition to cocaine possession, McGill is also charged with DUI, open container, giving a false name or date of birth to law enforcement, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
