Water and sewer customers inside the City Limits of Cave Spring are getting some relief on a rate increase approved by the city council in June.
According to City Manager Nick McLemore, the team at city hall spent the past week researching ways to minimize the impact and was able to reduce the original increase of 7.75 percent down to 6 percent for city customers.
County and Alabama customers will still see a 5.75 percent increase.
In addition, the fire protection fee will only see an increase of $2.50 a month. It was originally expected to go up by $5 a month.
”The City of Cave Spring is dedicated to providing the best possible services to our customers while trying to maintain the lowest price point possible,” McLemore said. “We are thankful for our customers and appreciate their understanding as they receive their bills.”
The increases will be reflected on the customer’s September bills.
