Teen charged with aggravated assault
A North Rome man is accused of assaulting a family member at his Euclid Avenue home on Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year-old Tomas Esteban-Bartolome struck his brother on the side of the head with a 15-pound weight, causing a visible injury.
He also damaged a front door, shattering the window and causing more than $1,500 in damage.
The incident was witnessed by a minor in the home.
Esteban-Bartolome is charged with aggravated assault, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
Woman charged with illegal dumping, felony obstruction
A Coosa woman is facing two counts of felony obstruction after allegedly fighting with police officers at her Wet Oak Drive home on Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Jessica Lane Wright resisted officers by kicking and biting.
The previous day, authorities were investigating a case of illegal dumping, and Wright refused to sign any citation, failed to show her driver’s license, and refused to give police any identifying information before slamming the door in an officer’s face.
Wright is additionally charged with illegal dumping and misdemeanor obstruction.
Woman charged with intimidation of an elder person
A Cedartown woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday on a felony warrant charging her with intimidation of the elderly.
According to the warrant:
50-year-old Vanessa Darden Cusyck was caring for an elderly person who was being resistant due to cognitive issues.
She flicked the man in the face with her fingers and put her knee on his chest while he was lying on the floor.
The incident occurred on July 11 at Harborview on Redmond Circle.
