St. Patrick’s Day isn’t until Tuesday, but Rome will celebrate early on Saturday with a couple of big events.
“Everybody is welcome to join us for the St. Paddy’s Babes Bayou concert at the Forum,” said Kristi Kent with the Georgia’s Rome Office of Tourism. “The doors open at 7 p.m. Right before that, there will be the Leprechaun-a-Thon. They do a fun, foam pit at the end, St. Paddy’s Day-style, for everyone who accomplishes that race. Then, after you finish running the race, you can go to the concert because your race entry is your ticket into the St. Paddy’s Babes Bayou concert.”
The 10th annual Leprechaun-a-Thon begins at 5:30 p.m. with the 5K, and the health walk to follow at 5:45.
It starts at First Avenue near Bridgepoint Plaza and ends near the Town Green and The Forum.
Show up early for the costume contest, which starts at 5:00 p.m.
Runners and walkers alike are invited to wear their most festive green attire and best leprechaun costumes
The Leprechaun-a-Thon, which is once again sponsored by Atrium Health Floyd and Harbin Clinic, will also see a portion of the proceeds go to benefit Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries.
