Fox Gives, the philanthropic arm of Atlanta’s Fox Theater, has awarded $1 million in new multiyear grants, and the Historic DeSoto Theatre in Downtown Rome is one of the two recipients.
The DeSoto is getting a long-term grant of $500,000.
The awards were announced on Wednesday night.
This is the first time the Fox Theatre has awarded two multiyear grants in one year.
Wednesday’s ceremony brought together eight grant recipients from across Georgia for the first time, highlighting the impact of historic preservation efforts in communities statewide.
