Woman charged with aggravated assault
A homeless woman is accused of assaulting another woman on Green and Gold Boulevard in North Rome early Thursday morning.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Shainia Alexandria Harding put her hands around the victim’s neck and strangled her.
She was then found with suspected methamphetamine once at the jail.
Harding is charged with aggravated assault, possession of meth, and possession of drugs past the guard line at the jail.
Woman facing four counts of child cruelty
A Rome woman was arrested at her East 13th Street home on four counts of 2nd-degree cruelty to children on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
29-year-old Alexis Lachelle West allowed four children to live in severely unsanitary conditions, endangering their well-being.
Man accused of burglarizing garage
A Coosa man is facing a 2nd-degree burglary charge following his arrest on Wednesday.
According to the arrest warrant:
25-year-old Charles Ethan Waits entered a garage on Albert Avenue in the Coosa area and stole two car batteries, two security cameras, two battery chargers and miscellaneous tools.
The combined value of the stolen property was listed at nearly $1,000.
The burglary occurred back on June 30.
Woman facing meth possession charge
A Rome woman is facing drug charges following a traffic stop on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 43-year-old Andrea Jan Jones was stopped at Turner McCall and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
She was then found with suspected methamphetamine and a meth pipe.
Jones was also under suspicion of DUI and ran a red light.
She is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, driving under the influence of drugs, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
