Both the Rome City Commission and Floyd County Commission have honored the Exchange Club of Rome with proclamations.
The local exchange club was chartered in 1936 and has served the community for 90 years under the motto “Unity for Service.”
Floyd County Commissioner Scotty Hancock read from the proclamation on Tuesday:
“The Exchange Club of Rome is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of children, families, and the community through this prevention of child abuse in Initiatives, and in 1991, through collaborative efforts with public and private agencies, established the Exchange Club of Rome’s Family Resource Center, which continues to provide vital education, resources and support services to families throughout Rome and Floyd County.”
The Exchange Club of Rome also promotes patriotism through its Americanism programs, supports local non-profits and community improvements and events that enhance quality of life, and invests in the area’s youth by sponsoring programs and activities that encourage and support of the next generation.
