Cartersville firefighters quickly extinguished an equipment fire Monday at the Qcells solar manufacturing plant in Cartersville.
According to 11Alive, no injuries were reported, and crews brought the blaze under control without further incident. The fire started in an area where the facility produces ingots for solar panels.
Cartersville Fire Department officials responded promptly to the scene. This marks the latest incident at the plant, which employs many residents and serves as a major economic driver in Bartow County.
In July 2025, firefighters and a hazmat team responded to another fire at the same Hanwha Qcells facility on Great Valley Parkway. That blaze prompted a response due to hazardous materials on site. However, crews contained it without injuries or significant environmental impact.
Earlier, in May 2025, a 33-year-old contractor died at the plant after being found unresponsive on top of a tank. Authorities determined oxygen levels there were too low to sustain life, and investigators examined a possible nitrogen leak.
Qcells officials have previously stated that the facility continued normal operations following the earlier events while cooperating with investigators.
