One person was transported to the hospital Saturday evening following a shooting in South Rome.

At around 9:15 p.m. a man entered the Hi-Tech on South Broad Street, shot the clerk in the back and took money from the register.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a ski mask.

He fled the scene on foot.

The clerk’s wounds did not appear to be life-threatening.
