Graves will not seek re-election

December 5, 2019–12:08 p.m.

14th District Congressman Tom Graves has announced that he will not be seeking re-election in 2020.

Graves said that with his wife nearing retirement and his children now adults he has decided to start another chapter in his life.

In a letter to his constituents, Graves said “As we all do, I’m entering a new season in life.  An exciting season.  So, it’s time for me to pass the baton.  Now, it’s my time to cheer, support and sacrifice for those who have done the same for me over the last two decades.”

You can read his letter in its entirety here.

After serving in the state legislature, Graves was elected to represent the 9th Congressional District in 2010.

As a result of redistricting, Tom was reelected in 2012 to represent the new 14th Congressional District.
