The Downtown Development Promotions Committee created a new holiday event called “Rome for the Holidays” that took place Downtown Rome on Thursday night to offer an evening of holiday cheer and give consumers a chance to finish local holiday shopping.
There were many businesses that held special events like classic wondering Christmas carolers, and even Santa Claus himself. This event was created to encourage Romans to shop locally this Holiday season.
We spoke with Nedra Manners of Yellow Door Antiques and Art about how events like these help the Downtown Business Community.
We also spoke with Jacquelyn Wright with the National Society of the Colonial Dames about their new coloring book that was created to educate children about the history of Downtown Rome.
The Downtown Development Promotions also has a competition going on Downtown for the Best Christmas Store window for the downtown area. Don’t forget to vote for your favorite downtown Christmas window via Downtown Rome, GA‘s Facebook, or through the voting forms available at participating downtown businesses!
