STAFF REPORTS
Area residents will be able to learn more next month about the proposed replacement of the bridge near Home Depot on Turner McCall Boulevard.
The Georgia Department of Transportation will hold a public information open house on January 16 at the Rome Civic Center.
The meeting will be held from 5 until 7 p.m.
Signs have been posted at the bridge, known as the Tom Clemmons Memorial Bridge informing the public of the meeting.
The bridge over the Etowah River and railroad tracks was constructed in 1956 and has been deemed structurally deficient.
The project is not expected to go out to bid until 2022.
