WBHF Radio –
(Via WBHF Radio) Lidl, the German global discount supermarket chain, announced Friday it will build a regional distribution center in Covington.
The announcement marks a change in direction, as it announced on June 26th, 2017 that it would open a distribution center and regional headquarters in Phase Two of the Highland 75 Industrial Park in Bartow County.
Lidl originally was going to build stores in Rome and Calhoun, but instead opened stores in Augusta, Mableton, Marietta, and Snellville.
Lidl felt Covington would be more centralized for its store network in the state and future expansion plans.
