STAFF REPORTS
In the coming weeks, you are going to be hearing a lot about the U.S. Census which officially begins on April 1.
Local leaders want to make sure Rome and Floyd County residents are accurately counted, especially the so-called “hard to count” populations, according to Braden Keith with Floyd Complete Count.
The Census is important because it ensures that each community gets the right number of representatives in government.
It also helps with the equitable distribution of public funds.
Volunteers are being sought to serve on the local Census subcommittees.
If you would like to volunteer email Keith at [email protected] or Rome-Floyd Planning Director Artegus Newell at [email protected].
