Floyd County Police respond to two wrecks Wednesday morning within minutes of each other at opposite ends of the county, one involving a school bus.
According to police, no children were injured when a Jeep Cherokee pulled out of Landers Drive onto Park Avenue into the path of a Floyd County school bus.
There were 10 to 15 students on the bus at the time, again none were injured and they were taken onto Pepperell Elementary School.
The driver of the Jeep was cited for failure to yield.
That wreck occurred at around 7:21 a.m.
According to a statement released by the school system:
“A school bus carrying 13 Pepperell Area students was involved in a minor accident in Lindale this morning. There were no injuries to anyone on the bus. Students were transported safely to their respective schools by another bus.”
Less than half an hour earlier, at 6:55 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle wreck on Highway 53.
A northbound truck attempted to turn left onto West Hermitage Road and pulled into the path of a car.
A passenger in the truck was taken to Floyd Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck was cited for failure to yield.
