The Floyd County Commission has approved a resolution to recommend and urge county residents to socially distance, and when that’s not possible, to wear a face-covering in public.
The resolution stopped short of requiring the wearing of masks in the county.
The measure also encourages businesses in the county to require customers and employees to wear face-coverings.
On Monday, the Rome City Commission approved an emergency order that requires facial coverings when social distancing is not possible within the city limits.
