(Via WBHF Radio) Bartow County Dispatch sent a deputy to campsite nine at Gatewood Park on Bartow Beach Road near Cartersville early Wednesday morning. The deputy was to find a suspect on the scene, threatening to set people on fire and kill them.
The suspect, 43-year-old Eric Shawn Stack of Woodstock, said he got into an argument with his girlfriend and tried to leave. She reportedly didn’t want him to go.
His girlfriend said Eric got upset because everyone ate all of the hot dogs and did not let him have any.
She said she took three kids to the edge of the lake around 50 yards from the campsite away from Eric since he was intoxicated and causing a scene.
While by the lake, she heard screaming coming from the campsite.
When she got back up to the campsite, she witnessed Eric tell three teenagers that he would tie them and his girlfriend up with a drop cord and burn them to death.
The three teens at the campsite told the responding deputy the same thing.
There was also an allegation that Eric broke a light bulb and held it to a complainant’s neck, but there were no witnesses.
Eric also allegedly poured mouthwash on everything threatening to burn it.
The deputy placed Eric Stack under arrest for three counts of cruelty to children in the first degree, three counts of cruelty to children in the third degree for threatening the teens in the presence of three younger kids, and four counts of felony terroristic threats and acts.
