Teen charged with child molestation

A teenager was arrested over the weekend on a felony warrant charging him with child molestation.

According to the warrant;

19-year-old Mario Puente Jr. of Rome molested a female under the age of 16.

The incident occurred in October of last year at a location on Blackhawk Circle in Rome, according to the warrant.

Man charged with burglarizing home, stealing from a deceased person

A homeless man is accused of burglarizing the home of a person who had died.

According to the arrest warrant:

39-year-old William Lonnie Kitchen took a washer and dryer from the home on Flannery Street between July 24 and July 26.

He is also facing charges in the theft of jewelry and clothing from a residence on Bollen Court back in October.

Kitchen is also charged with the sale of methamphetamine.

He is accused of selling meth to a confidential informant at a location on South McLin Street on June 14 of last year.

Man charged with cocaine trafficking

A Rome man was charged with trafficking cocaine following his arrest Friday at Second Avenue and West Third Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

43-year-old Derrick Larenzo Richardson was found with 28.3 grams of crack cocaine and a digital scale during a traffic stop.

Richardson was also charged with possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, and a probation violation.

Woman facing theft by receiving charge

A 27-year-old Rome woman is facing charges after items reported stolen in burglaries in Floyd and Polk Counties were found during the execution of a search warrant at her residence on Castleberry Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Crystal Belle Porter is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property.

Porter is also charged with possession of methamphetamine after three bags of suspected meth were located in the laundry room of the home.

Report: Man forged check for more than $3,000

A 23-year-old Rome man was arrested late last week on a felony warrant charging him with 3rd-degree forgery.

According to the warrant:

Kevin Tyrell Jenkins uttered a forged check for $3,492 at a location on Shorter Avenue back on Oct. 26, 2022.
