The Rome City School Board voted Tuesday to select Parrish Construction as the construction manager at-risk for the new Rome Middle School project.

Prior to the vote, maintenance director Tim Williams told the board that six companies submitted proposals that were scored by a six-member committee.

Two companies, Parrish and Carroll Daniel Construction, were the top two proposals.

Williams gave a comparison of the two proposals.

“Both have proposed to submit their guaranteed maximum price to the board for the third or fourth week in August,” he said. “Both are within three days of each other with the start date in September. Carroll Daniel has a move-in date of Jun. 1, 2025. Parrish is proposing a phased move-in, starting Mar. 1, 2025. Carroll Daniel has a final completion date of Jul. 30, 2025, with a possible early completion that June. Parrish has a final completion date of Jul. 7, 2025.”

.Again, the board voted to go with Parrish Construction.

“I will say that of all the ones I’ve done, this is the closest bid I have gone through,” Williams added.
