More charges have been filed against a man arrested in a couple of burglaries late last week.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
39-year-old William Lonnie Kitchen entered an outbuilding on Alabama Highway on Feb. 9 and took a chainsaw and electrical wire.
He is charged with 2nd-degree burglary, two counts of theft by taking, and a single count of criminal trespass.
Kitchen was initially arrested last Thursday for stealing a washer and dryer from a residence of a deceased person on Flannery Street in July as well as the theft of jewelry and clothing from a residence on Bollen Court back in October.
Man charged with aggravated assault
A 26-year-old Rome man was arrested Monday on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated assault.
According to the warrant:
Dustin Paul Messex squeezed a woman’s throat with his hands in an attempt to strangle her.
The incident occurred as Messex was forcibly holding the victim over the railing of an elevated porch.
Messex is also accused of slamming a door against the victim’s arm repeatedly during the incident on Blacks Bluff Road that occurred back in December.
Man accused of defrauding the Georgia Lottery
A Rockmart man who has been in the Floyd County Jail for a probation violation since late January has now been charged with four counts of fraud against the Georgia Lottery.
According to jail records:
30-year-old Zachary Logan Adams redeemed lottery tickets that had been stolen.
Adams redeemed two tickets on Jan. 3 and received two tickets in return along with cash from the store on Garden Lakes Boulevard.
Woman charged with meth possession
A Cedartown woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday for possession of methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Candice Nicole Chastain was found with a small bag of meth at the homeless camp behind Walmart.
Chastain is also charged with a felony count of failure to appear in court.
