A storm system that caused Tornado Warnings and Watches in Mississippi and Alabama weakened as it moved into Northwest Georgia Thursday evening.

Although Floyd County escaped the severe weather, a lot of rain fell, causing issues with some local roadways.

According to Floyd County E-911:

Dugger Drive, Selman Road and Lindsey Road in the Armuchee area are closed due to high water.

Wayside Road at Moran Lake Road, Brewer Road, and 797 Old Dalton Road also had high water.

A tree that fell on Minshew Road off Bells Ferry Road in the Shannon area has been cleared.

According to University of Georgia Extension County Extension Coordinator Keith Mickler, 2.03 inches of rain have been recorded at the UGA Experiment Station since Thursday. 1.63 inches were recorded overnight. The gauge at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport also recorded 2.1 inches of rain between 6 p.m. Thursday and 7 a.m. Friday.
