Six arrested on drug charges on Decatur Street

The Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force arrested six men at a residence on Decatur Street early Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

The officers found fentanyl pills, cocaine, marijuana packaged for resale, and two firearms.

43-year-old Bryon Namone Zachary, 30-year-old Gerald Lamar Daniel Jr., 22-year-old Jaylyn My’Kel Smith, 23-year-old Tyrell Donaldson, and 40-year-old Alton O’Neal Anderson are all charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Daniel was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine.

27-year-old Jamarie Tyre Sloman was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.

Woman charged with animal cruelty

A 27-year-old Silver Creek woman was arrested Wednesday at her Pleasant Valley Road home on five felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and a single misdemeanor count of animal cruelty.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Kendra Shanice Wilson failed to provide food to six dogs.

Four of them showed signs of malnourishment.

One of the dogs suffered from a severely disfigured leg that Wilson did not seek vet care for.

Rome woman facing burglary charge

A Rome woman is facing a 1st-degree burglary charge following her arrest on Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

25-year-old Deyli Janet Gonzalez broke the window to the victim’s residence and tried to unlock it.

She also broke the victim’s porch light.

Gonzalez is additionally charged with aggravated stalking, criminal trespass, and simple assault.

Threats land local woman behind bars

A Rome woman was arrested at her Ellis Road residence Wednesday on two counts of terroristic threats and acts, and a single count of simple assault.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

24-year-old Bridget Hope Couey threatened to kill everyone in the house on Feb. 15.

She also threatened to punch one victim in the face.

Two charged with drug possession

A Rome man and a man from Duluth, Georgia were jailed Wednesday on multiple charges, including possession of controlled substances and possession of controlled substances with the intent to distribute.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

During the execution of a search warrant at a location on Shorter Avenue, Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers found 38-year-old Melvin Dewayne Ragland Jr. and 36-year-old Brandon Hardy with suspected Xanax pills, Psilocybin (also known as magic mushrooms), and more than an ounce of marijuana packaged in multiple bags for resale.

Ragland also had a firearm that had been reported stolen.

He is also facing single counts of theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime as well as seven counts of contempt of superior court.
