Teen charged with burglary, criminal damage to property

A teenager has been charged in connection with a burglary at a local business back on Feb. 12.

According to the arrest warrants:

17-year-old Joseph Lee Mize of Rome and two other individuals busted out the front glass doors and entered the building at 3425 Martha Berry Highway.

They were confronted by the business owner, who had a gun, but the suspects fled before police arrived.

Mize is charged with felony counts of 2nd-degree burglary and 2nd-degree criminal damage to property.

Report: Man found with alprazolam and morphine

A 33-year-old Silver Creek man was arrested Sunday on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Austin Mark Outlaw was in possession of a pill bottle containing alprazolam and morphine while at a location on Doncaster Drive.

Outlaw is charged with possession of controlled substances, and possession of drugs not in the original container.

Man accused of selling synthetic marijuana back in 2016

A Jonesboro man was booked into the Floyd County Jail late last week on felony warrants charging him with the sale of synthetic marijuana.

According to the warrants:

35-year-old Mandeep Singh sold synthetic marijuana to a police informant on Nov. 3 and Nov. 11, 2016 at locations on Calhoun Road and Turner McCall Boulevard.

Singh is also being held for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to jail records.
