Man charged in shoplifting incidents at Home Depot, Dunham’s

A 44-year-old Rome man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with shoplifting incidents at the Home Deport on Hicks Drive.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

Nahunta Sh’Ron Finley took two cordless leaf vacuums valued at a combined $358 and a carpet cleaning machine valued at $229 between Dec. 7 and Jan. 13.

He is also accused of taking a vacuum, a steam cleaner, paper towels and a pack of wipes, valued at a combined $598.24 on Jan. 4.

Finley was arrested during another shoplifting incident on Monday.

He is accused of taking more than $1,481 in merchandise from Dunham’s sporting goods in Mt. Berry Square Mall.

Finley reportedly gave officers a false name and date of birth and signed the false name to the ID card once at the Floyd County Jail.

Report: Man trespasses, attempted to enter autos

A 33-year-old Silver Creek man, who was initially arrested Sunday after he was found with alprazolam and morphine, is now facing additional charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Austin Mark Outlaw entered the victim’s property on Doncaster Drive and stayed there despite being told to leave.

He then attempted to gain entry to vehicles on the property, which caused a good bit of concern among residents in the area.

Outlaw is charged with two felony counts of criminal attempt to enter an automobile, as well as single misdemeanor counts of loitering or prowling, and criminal trespass.

Sex offender accused of failing to register his vehicle

A man convicted of statutory rape in 2001 was arrested Monday on a felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by 40-year-old Jason Duran White was stopped on Highway 53 at Berwin Road for failure to maintain a lane.

The 2016 Jeep Compass had not been registered by Wright, who is listed as the co-owner, as required by law.
