Severe Weather causes power outages and down trees in Rome/Floyd area

Severe weather has caused multiple issues this afternoon: Reports are coming in of downed power lines and trees all over the area.

WRGA News will update this article as more reports become available.

Drivers are advised that a large tree has fallen in the road in the area near the traffic light at North Elm Street (pictured below)

Georgia Power has reported multiple large power outages in the Rome/Floyd area:

– 749 Customers without power on Kingston Road.

– 303 without power in the area of East Hermitage Road.

– 499 without power in the Shannon area.

– 177 near Martha Berry Blvd.

– 75 without power in Celanese.
