Woman charged with 2nd-degree child cruelty

A Rome woman is facing a child cruelty charge following her arrest at her Pine Street home on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

38-year-old Shymale Renee Dublin is charged with 2nd-degree cruelty to children.

There was a warrant on file at the Floyd County Jail, but the entire narrative was redacted, so no details are known about the arrest.

Man accused of threatening an elderly man

A 40-year-old Rome man was arrested late last week at his Whippoorwill Lane residence on a felony count of exploitation or intimidation of the elderly.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

John Jackson Lynn threatened and intimidated a 74-year-old man.

The victim felt he needed to leave immediately for his own safety.

Lynn is also charged with a probation violation and with being a fugitive from justice.

He is also being held for the DeKalb County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office.

Report: Woman bit, threatened another woman

A Rome woman was arrested at her Burnett Ferry Road home Sunday after she reportedly bit another woman on the back.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

44-year-old Candice Tonisha Watley also struck the victim in the head and threatened her.

Watley was also found with suspected methamphetamine in her pants pocket.

Once at the jail, she was found with a glass pipe containing suspected meth that was hidden in a body cavity.

Watley is charged with simple battery, terroristic threats, and acts, possession of meth, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.
