Report: Woman assaulted a man with a stick at a liquor store

A Rome woman was arrested after she reportedly attacked a man with a wooden stick last week at Rome Liquor and Tobacco on East Second Avenue.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

55-year-old Idelle Tate Williams attempted to strike the man in the head, but missed, hitting him on the arm instead.

Williams is charged with felony aggravated assault.’

Man arrested after being found with drugs, gun

A 32-year-old Garden Lakes man was recently arrested following a traffic stop on North Second Avenue at West Fifth Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Rome police initially stopped a Lincoln driven by Reno Cornelius Hoskins III for a tag light violation.

Due to the odor of marijuana, his vehicle was searched.

Less than an ounce of marijuana, a digital scale, an e-cigarette infused with THC, and a Taurus 9mm handgun were all found in the vehicle.

Hoskins is charged with misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and no tag light as well as felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Woman charged with meth possession

A Rome woman was arrested Sunday at her Rooney Road residence on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

45-year-old Stephanie Lynn Harcourt was found with suspected methamphetamine in her vicinity.

She is charged with possession of meth.
