Two arrested after shots were fired on Kings Court

Two people were arrested after gunshots were fired on Kings Court Thursday evening.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

20-year-old Clayton Hunter Compton of Cedartown discharged a firearm twice in the direction of a woman.

The incident occurred in the presence of children.

Compton is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, reckless conduct, and discharge of a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Sebastian Chadwick Smith of Silver Creel was charged with being a party to the crime of aggravated assault.

The report states that Smith gave Compton and firearm and witnessed him firing it before driving away from the scene.
