Report: Man violated TPO, threw clothes and garbage in creek

A 48-year-old Rome man was recently arrested after allegedly violating a temporary protective order.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Bryan O’Neal Chastain was at the victim’s Alabama Highway home, despite there being a TPO requiring him to stay 300 yards away.

He then got into an argument with the victim, threw garbage and clothes into a creek next to the residence, and broke the victim’s windshield.

Chastain was under the influence and ran across the street when he heard police coming.

He is charged with aggravated stalking, criminal trespass, unlawful dumping, and obstruction of officers.

Woman charged with hindering apprehension

A Lindale woman is facing a felony count of hindering the apprehension of a criminal following her arrest over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

60-year-old Debra Lynn Collins attempted to convince deputies that a wanted man was at another location.

The man was then located inside Collins’ residence on Davis Street.

Collins is also charged with obstruction of law enforcement.

Teen charged with entering an auto, prowling

An Adairsville man teen was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on charges of entering an automobile, loitering or prowling, and underage possession of alcohol.

According to jail records:

18-year-old Bailey Evans Owens went onto someone else’s property on Merriam Street in North Rome and entered a 1986 Ford Ranger.

He finally exited the vehicle when his girlfriend made him.

Owens was under the influence of alcohol and the entire event was captured on video.
