Update on Tuesday morning’s Winter Weather Advisory

A winter weather advisory has been issued for Floyd County, Chattooga, Gordon, Polk, and Bartow by the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Floyd County Emergency Management has issued a statement anticipating precipitation to start Monday after 5 pm and continue throughout the night.

Temperatures are projected to dip below freezing around 2 am and continue below freezing throughout the entire day on Tuesday and into Tuesday night.

Tuesday night will bring dangerously cold temperatures, dropping to 12 to 14 degrees with a significant wind chill, making it feel like single-digit temperatures into Wednesday afternoon.

Prepare to encounter slippery road conditions on Tuesday morning. The hazardous conditions could impact the Tuesday morning commute. WRGA News recommends slowing down and using caution while traveling.

A rise above freezing is not expected until sometime after 1 pm on Wednesday.
