The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch in effect from this evening through Friday evening.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

Several waves of showers and thunderstorms will impact much of north and central Georgia through the weekend.

Total rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches will be likely.

Locally higher rainfall amounts are possible in thunderstorms and where storms repeatedly move.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.

Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
