Etowah Valley Humane Society Chloe
(770) 383-3338

If staff at the Etowah Valley Humane Society could choose one word to describe Chloe, it would be “perfect.” She can be a bit timid when you first meet her, but who can blame her after being found
wandering all alone? But she warms up very quickly; before you know it, she’ll be climbing into your lap
(literally) for pets and snuggles.

She’s an adorable, affectionate, and wiggly pup. At three and a half years old, she’s the perfect age for
adoption, since she’s grown out of rambunctious puppyhood but is still as young and playful as can be. She’s super smart too, and already knows how to politely sit when asked and how to give you, her paw. She would love nothing more than a new best friend to help her build her confidence and show her all the good things in life.

Could that new best friend be you? Visitation is by appointment only with an approved application on file. The application may be submitted from our website, by clicking here.

(770) 846-8946

Peeta is a playful and fun-loving boy looking for his forever family! This sweet boy is a German Shepherd/Lab mix, was born on 8-23-23, and weighs 40lbs. He came to BarkVille Dog Rescue after being picked up with his sister as strays. Peeta is dog friendly, and loves to play with his doggy friends – fetch and tug are two of his favorite activities! Peeta is friendly with everyone he meets, and is good with kids too. This young boy has lots of puppy energy, so he would love a family with a fenced yard who will provide him lots of exercise and enrichment!

Peeta is a big silly boy who will make a great addition to a family looking for a smart puppy to spend time with and put training into. He is potty trained, crate trained, and learning basic commands. Like any puppy, he will need continued structure and patience as he matures. Peeta is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped before an adoption is finalized. For more information about this sweet boy, please click here to email, or click here to submit an application.

BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they within 2-3 hours of the Greater Atlanta area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.

The Pawprint Pack Dawson

(770) 865-4672

Meet Dawson. This cutie is 25-30 pounds of spunk, sweetness, and love. He’s dedicated to his people and loves hard. Here is his story: Dawson came to us after a supporter of our rescue reached out notifying us that he was a “stray”. This was what we thought was true. But a day later we found his owner. She said she didn’t want him anymore and shoved him out the door, slamming it behind her. This took place up in Dawsonville which is how he got his name Dawson.

Our supporter had no place to put him to keep him out of the freezing cold weather and begged for help. Of course we weren’t going to say no. So she so kindly drove him hours to us where he now stays with his foster family. He is doing great too! He is such a fun and sweet pup. He is around 6 months old, what we think is a shepherd hound mix, fully vetted, and neutered. He is GREAT with other dogs and kids! He would probably chase a cat, but we can always do further testing as we haven’t done it just yet. He is almost fully house and crate trained and working on his basic manners. We can’t believe he is still with us. He’s got a heart of gold and wants nothing more then to be with his people.

So, please give this dude a chance to pull at your heart strings. He will be your best friend forever, he just needs to find you! Please click here to email us if you’d like to set up a meet and greet with him!

PAWS in Middle Georgia Oatmeal

(478) 227-8805

“This beautiful girl is affectionately called Oatmeal after the Little Debbies Oatmeal Creme Pies the animal control officer had in the truck and was willing to share. She came out to get a taste and the officer was able to catch her.

As you can see in some of her pictures, this girl has known pain and hardship for much of her young life. She suffered some type of burns all along her spine – either chemical or from crawling under a vehicle with a hot muffler. The burns have healed, but the scars are there as witness to her suffering. She also has vision issues. Oatmeal was never spayed and found herself pregnant. On top of everything, Oatmeal has also tested positive for heartworms and is undergoing treatment.

Mama Oatmeal is looking for a special home with people who will love, spoil, and pamper this precious girl. She would love a nice cozy bed (yours or her very own). She enjoys spending time with people, car rides, and going outside to enjoy the day. She’s crate trained and her foster is working on house training as well. Oatmeal will need a patient home. While Oatmeal is sweet as can be, her vision impairment causes a few issues. She is very nervous trying to jump in/out of vehicles, on/off couches, or using stairs because she can’t judge the distance. She struggles with befriending some dogs and cats because she has to get very close to see them, and some don’t appreciate their bubble being invaded.

Her ideal home would be a 1 story and possibly the use of a portable ramp to help her gain confidence in getting up/down. If there are other animals living in the home, a meet and greet will be essential. She is currently undergoing treatment for her heartworms. Don’t let that prevent you from falling in love with this girl though!! This means it’s the perfect time to get her. You’ll have plenty of time to snuggle up in the warmth of the house, passing the winter months by as you get to know her better. She should be ready to romp, hike and play with you when the warm weather of spring arrives!” Find out more about Oatmeal by visiting PAWS by clicking here today!

She is spayed, has all of her vaccinations, and is excited at the possibility of finding her furr-ever home. She is looking for a new best friend; is that you?

Cavalier Rescue (AL) — Louie

(205)790-4316

We welcomed precious 10 year old Louie (DOB 11/11/2013) into our care back in June when his owner unexpectedly passed away and he had nowhere to go. We were happy to bring Louie into our rescue family and make him feel safe, loved and comforted during such a confusing, difficult time. He certainly never thought he’d be needing to find a new family at 10 years of age, but he has shown amazing resilience, has settled in beautifully to his foster home, and is going to thrive in his perfect fit furever home.

We are very happy to report that Louie is a healthy 10 year old boy! He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, had a recent dental requiring 5 extractions, microchipped, and on monthly preventatives. He was found to be congenitally sound with clear eyes, knees, hips, and heart (no murmur detected!) Additionally, all of his labwork including his fecal test, heartworm and tick borne illness test, urinalysis, and bloodwork was normal and negative. We have started him on a daily joint supplement to support his aging joints, otherwise he is not on any medications and he does not require any additional vetting outside of regular wellness checks at this time. He is a healthy, active senior boy!

Louie’s foster family describes him as a chill dude. Unless there is food involved, he lives life in a rather slow, relaxed, leisurely pace and enjoys a quiet, calm, peaceful environment. He loves to find a spot on the patio to sunbathe and enjoy the fresh air and breeze. He needs to know you are close and always keeps you in his eyesight, but likes his own space and wants physical closeness and cuddling on his terms. Louie is also described as being an adventurer. He very much enjoys getting out of the house to go for car rides and leashed walks and is always ready to go. Pull out his harness and he comes to life spinning in circles with excitement!
