-Rome Police Department report-

A motorcyclist was transported to Atrium Health Floyd Thursday evening following a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Williamson Street and  Shorter Avenue.

According to a Rome Police Department report: 

A 2006 Toyota Sienna, driven by 41-year-old Daysy Morales of Rome was turning left onto Shorter Avenue and struck a 2006 Yamaha motorcycle that was traveling eastbound.

The motorcyclist, 20-year-old Nathan Caliguire of Rome, was thrown about 100 feet by the impact and sustained serious injuries.

Morales has been cited for failure to yield while turning left.

The wreck occurred at around 6:44 on Thursday evening.
