Man charged with aggravated sexual battery

A 52-year-old Silver Creek man was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated sexual battery and simple assault.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Willie Lee Lowe Jr. pushed a woman down and forcefully violated her.

The incident occurred at Lowe’s residence on Ridgedale Drive.

Rome woman accused of using someone else’s identity to get jobs, insurance

A Rome woman is accused of presenting fake Department of Driver Services forms for an identification application.

According to the arrest warrants:

39-year-old Berta Lisbet Chun-Vasquez also used the identity of another person to get insurance and several jobs.

The original crime took place in 2010, but the victim was not aware until this month when it was discovered during an audit.

Chun-Vasquez is charged with 1st-degree forgery and aggravated identity fraud.

Report: Woman found with eleven pounds of marijuana

A Rome woman was arrested Tuesday at her Atkins Drive residence on a marijuana trafficking charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Amy Louise Bishop was found with over eleven pounds of marijuana during the execution of a search warrant.

She also had suspected fentanyl and digital scales.

Bishop is additionally charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug-related objects.

Report: Man threatened another man at church

A Silver Creek man is accused of threatening to beat up a Cartersville man during a church service.

According to the arrest warrant for 33-year-old Timothy Brian Turnipseed Sr., the incident occurred on February 18 at a church on Melody Lane in Rome.

In addition to a misdemeanor count of terroristic threats and acts, Turnipseed is also charged with a probation violation.
