Calhoun man accused of making threats

A Calhoun man was booked into the Floyd County Jail late last week on a felony warrant charging him with terroristic threats and acts.

According to the warrant:

On October 10, 54-year old Terry Wayne Lowe sent a woman text messages, threatening her if she showed up in court in another county involving an act of family violence committed against her.

He also stated that the victim’s 21-year-old daughter would also get hurt.

On October 11, Lowe sent more text messages.

In one of them, he threatened to cut the throats of victim and her daughter.

Man charged with felony count of false statements and writings

A Rome man is accused of giving false information during a traffic stop on Wayside Road at Calhoun Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records: 

24-year-old Jaquin Caliea Barton pulled out in front of another vehicle, almost causing a wreck.

He then wrote down a false name and date of birth and the Georgia State Trooper could smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Barton is charged with a felony count of false statements and writings and misdemeanor counts of giving a false name and date of birth, obstruction, DUI, reckless driving, driving while unlicensed, and failure to yield while turning left.
